You mean you're for what works? Excellent. However you don't mention that climate change (or variation?) in the poorest parts of the world is likely to have enormous effects on migration and thus on immigration, whether to the US, the EU or elsewhere.

We’ve ventured into impacts in the developing world, including migration internally and across borders, pretty extensively in a bunch of past posts if you have a look through the archive.
