The International Energy Agency ups its forecast for renewable energy more than ever before; Oil and gas industry still plans major investments in new fossil fuel projects.
Hi Bill, I'm glad you are writing articles on Climate. I am an advocate for increased hydrogen production and use. Hydrogen use solves many difficult problems in changing from fossil fuels to clean energy in transportation (medium & heavy trucks, rail and shipping), industry, steel and cement. One non-polluting method, Methane Pyrolysis, for hydrogen production is not getting enough attention in my view. This method converts natural gas (methane) into hydrogen and solid non-polluting carbon. Solid carbon does not melt or evaporate and can be used in a variety of products or easily stored without pollution in landfill. Please read the article at this link for an eye-opening discussion of alternative production methods for hydrogen.
